IBP School of Special Education Division
Effective 1990, a non-profit division of IBP,
"School of Special Education was established.
It now caters for the educational, psychological, vocational,
therapeutic needs of over 350 slow learners & mentally
challenged individuals.
From its inception, the school has followed the following principles:

75% of its students are offered freeships
& need based scholarships.

However, in our efforts to provide excellence in education
and maximum charity, IBP School needs to continue receiving
financial support through donations, sponsorships, zakat and other
fund raising activities.

experience, but also on a passion to excel.
Our team comprises of skilled & experienced
professionals with in-depth knowledge of human growth & development,
with specific emphasis on the social, emotional & psychological
effect on the student.
Services Offered:
Our services can be broadly divided into 3 categories:
Academic services.
Vocational services.
Therapeutic
services.
Academic services:
The focus of the academic services is to enable
the higher functioning students to achieve literacy in one language,
and sufficient mathematical skills to handle their personal finances.
For the lower functioning students, the focus
is to enable them to become socially independent, and to be able
to look after their own self-help needs.
Vocational Services:
Vocational training is imparted to the students
according to their skill, ability and interest level. The focus
is on teaching a skill whereby the individual can earn a living
and become economically self-sufficient.
Special arrangements are made to find self-employment, in-house
employment or outside employment for the student. IBP is proud
to employ most of the trained students in IBPs various departments
such as catering department, sports teachers aids, receptionist
aid etc.
Therapeutic Services:
The school offers a wide range of therapeutic
services. These include:
Speech
language therapy
Physiotherapy
Occupational
Therapy
Behavior Management Program:
IBP offers an extensive behavior management
program for those children who show behavior problems, discipline
problems, aggressive or destructive behavior, obsessive compulsive
tendencies, fears, anxieties etc.

Music & Dance:
Most of the ‘Special Children’ have
an inclination towards music. IBP is therefore training the students
to play musical instruments like flute and drums and working towards
forming its own school band.
Synchrony is taught with music & movement.

Sports:
Sports and physical activities are part of
the school regimen. Each day starts with physical exercises. The
school contains a tennis court, basketball court, jogging track
and other facilities. Training for the Special Olympics held in
USA is part of the activities.
Religious Education:
Ba- Jamaat Namaaz e Zohar is offered by every child. The children
do Wazoo to offer their prayers on a daily basis. Islamic way
of life is practiced. Different ayats are also taught.
Extra-Curricular activities:

Extra curricular activities are an integral
part of the school culture. These include dramatics, carnivals
and fairs, picnics and outings, visits to factories & museums,
sports events etc.
Lunch Facilities:
Being a full day school, a mid- morning snack
with a glass of milk is served to the children.
Besides this, a well-balanced meal consisting of main dish and
side is also served. Fruit is served everyday and dessert is served
twice a week.
Van Facilities:
Transport facility is available and provided in all parts of Karachi.
Timings:
Full day school with timings from 8:15 am
to 3:00 p.m. Extra curricular activities are held after school
hours.
Fees:
The school is a non–profit, tax-exempt
society registered with the social welfare department.
Fees are on a sliding grade, depending on
the financial situation of the family, and their ability to pay.
