This school caters for the academic, psychological, vocational and therapeutic needs of children and youth with educational and developmental delays and disabilities.
Our programs address the needs of students with Down syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD), Cerebral Palsy (CP), mental dysfunction due to epilepsy, illness or injury, and other conditions associated with intellectual disability. We are the only school of its kind in South Asia that teaches and rehabilitates individuals with multiple disabilities.
The school for Slow Learners was established to address the needs of those children who do not fall under the category of Special Needs, and yet cannot cope in mainstream schools.
Thirty years ago, and to a large extent to this day, no provision has been made in Pakistan’s education system to help these children, who would become the school dropouts, often turning to delinquency and petty crimes.
Our aim is to help them develop sufficient academic skills and abilities to reintegrate to a main stream school setting, or else to develop sufficient vocational skills to be able to become financially independent.
